I’m a gameplay programmer working on the new 007 project. I do a little bit of everything, but I mainly work on player mechanics and underlying tech systems.
I started playing videogames when I was around 8 years old and I haven’t stopped since! It always has been a passion of mine. I’ve been working as a Gameplay Programmer for more than 15 years and I couldn’t be happier about it. Besides videogames, I’m also a big fan of boardgames, movies, comics, books and music (without a doubt music is the other big passion of mine).
My colleagues! Working at IOI provides me with the right environment to grow and learn from my colleagues. I feel really lucky to be working with such an amazing group of individuals. Not only they are really good professionals with in depth knowledge about technical stuff, but they’re also humble and always open to discussion and feedback.
Because I love to keep learning and improving every day! Implementing new gameplay mechanics provides plenty of new challenges every day, so getting bored is not an option. Also working on gameplay systems means that sometimes the stuff you work on has a very direct impact on what you see and how it plays, which is super rewarding.
Err…I do play a lot of videogames, so I guess that counts as “work”? You know, like doing research or… something. I’m pretty sure it counts, yeah. Definitely.
I haven’t been in the company that long, so I haven’t been able to live the experience of releasing the game you’ve been working on for so long. But for sure the parties have been a wonderful opportunity to finally meet face to face with people that you’ve been working closely for some time.
“Do or do not. There is no try”.
