Epic Overlay
We have fixed the know issue with the Epic Overlay, where some PC players encountered a crash/ freeze if they opened and closed the overlay.

HITMAN 3’s June Patch is available on Tuesday June 15, 2021 and starts the Season of Sloth.

This five-week celebration of conserving energy brings new premium content with Act 3 of the Seven Deadly Sins, new unlockable items for completing Featured Contracts and new and returning Elusive Targets.

The June Patch gets the game ready for new content with fixes, improvements and tweaks. All the details are below!

HITMAN 3 – June Patch Details

HITMAN 3 will be updated to version 3.40 on all platforms; PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Stadia and Switch.

Patch Release: Tuesday 15th June 2021, 1pm UTC / 3pm CEST / 6am PT

Maintenance: Starts one hour before the release of the patch on all platforms. The game servers for each platform will come back online once they’ve been checked and verified, as such there is no set end time for the maintenance window. Updates will be posted to the official @IOInteractive Twitter account.

Patch size: Approximately 2.5 GB – 3.5 GB on all platforms.

Cloud: Stadia and Switch players do not need to download or install the patch. They will get access to the latest version when they launch the game after the above ‘patch release’ time.

New Content

Seven Deadly Sins Act 3: Sloth

Chill out, take it easy. The Seven Deadly Sins continues with Act 3: Sloth. Save all your energy for the Sloth Depletion Escalation and go deep into the mind of Agent 47. Experience a new take on the Dartmoor location – plus unlock new sin-themed items and suit to show off your inner sloth.

Each act of the Seven Deadly Sins be be purchased individually, or together at a reduced price as part of the Seven Deadly Sins Collection.

 

Featured Contracts Unlocks

The June Patch introduces a new reward for completing 40 unique Featured Contracts; The ICA 19 F/A Stealth “Ducky” Edition. The challenge will be added to the game on June 15th when the Featured Contracts total is sitting at 38. The first batch of Featured Contracts introduced with the Season of Sloth will be your first chance to unlock this brightly-coloured weapon!


General Updates

Stability Improvements
We’ve fixed and resolved several issues on all platforms that would cause the game to crash or be unstable.

We’ve listed all the trophies/achievements and challenges below that have had their unlock conditions tweaked in this patch.

The Classics Challenges
We’ve tweaked a few things affecting how the Classics Challenges unlock. Firstly, we’ve made sure that players who reach the required amount (e.g. 17) or above, will succefully unlock the challenge and earn the accompanying reward. Players who are still having issues are encouraged to start and exit a mission that has those challenges available.

Secondly, players who had some progress towards these challenges reset with the last patch (3.30), will now have the correct progress.

Note: Some of these changes were made between the release of 3.30 and 3.40, so some players may already have experienced the fixes mentioned here. We’re noting them now in the patch notes for clarity.

Extra note: It is a known issue that completing one the of the ‘The Classics’ challenges in a mission that is not a ‘campaign’ mission (e.g Bonus Mission or Special Assignments), might not count progress towards the progress for the cumulative challenges.

Misleading Leaderboard Percentile Descriptions
We’ve changed the wording and the order of the ‘leaderboard position’ indicator that is shown when completing a mission.

Previously, “Low” and “High” were used to indicate the leaderboard percentile, which meant that the highest ranking players were displayed on the left, but this was causing confusion. With this update, the highest ranking players will be labelled as “Top” and on the right-hand side of the screen.

Subtitle Indicator
We’ve added the option to enable a ‘Speaker Indicator’ for subtitles, which will indicate who is talking. When toggled on, this will work during gameplay, briefings and cinematics.

During cinematics and briefings, the speaker’s name will be displayed in the subtitles. During gameplay, an icon will indicate where the subtitled speech is coming from.

Free Starter Pack
We’ve made a handful of changes to improve the experience of playing the Free Starter Pack. These include adding a tile to encourage new players to play the Sebastian Principle Escalation Contract in Dubai and we’ve fixed an issue where Free Starter Pack players could be unable to proceed after linking their account. This should prevent the ‘Already Registered’ issue from occurring. We’ve made other minor tweaks too.

Maintenance Messaging
We’ve updated the in-game message / pop-up that displays during server maintenance to make it clear that server maintenance is ongoing. This applies for all platforms.

Seasonal Bonus
We’ve fixed an issue where the HITMAN 1 Bonus Missions (The Icon, Landslide, A House Built On Sand) were incorrectly labelled as “Seasonal Content” in the menus.

From a to x (to e)
We’ve tweaked an issue where the ICA Combat Axe was missing capital letters in its description.

Explosive Devices Differentiation
We’ve updated the inventory images for the ICA Explosive Devices to better represent how they look in-game.

Wet Guru
We’ve changed the properties of the Guru Suit (unlocked via the Gauchito Antiquity Deluxe Escalation) to look wet when 47 is in the rain.

PS5 HUD
We’ve tweaked various elements of the heads-up display to make them more visible in all areas of the game on a PS5, including the weapon HUD and text elements of the UI.

PS5 Activities
We’ve adjusted a few things on the back-end to ensure that PS5 players that load a particular location from an ‘Activity’ when the game is closed, will be taken directly to the intended location.

Credit Where It’s Due, 3.40
We’ve updated the credits to reflect work done since the last update.

Sound / Audio Updates

Main Menu Music
We’ve made a subtle change to the menu navigation sounds so that they’re lighter and more subtle.

Objective (Sounds) Updated
We’ve added new sound effects for when the Mission Objectives (i.e “Eliminate Viktor Novikov”) updates, to better fit the overall style of HITMAN 3.

Unpacking Audio
We’ve added Foley sounds to briefcases and related actions. Previously, unpacking items from suitcases would be silent.

Instinct Mix
We’ve tweaked the audio mix for Instinct to give an improved, more focused sound. This includes adjusted levels for Foley, SFX and UI.

Musical Overlap
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause the Mission Success™ music to overlap with a location’s ambient music and not trigger when you actually leave a mission.

Loadout Tracks
We’ve made a change that will ensure the loadout music track will now trigger properly.

Sneaker Footsteps
We’ve replaced the footstep sounds for when Agent 47 or NPCs are wearing sneakers / trainers to bring their quality in line with other sound effects that were updated for HITMAN 3’s launch.

Grid Wall
We’ve resolved an issue where a security camera grid could be seen through a wall.



Location Changes: Dartmoor, England

Full House
We’ve tweaked some parameters to make the Full House trophy unlock more consistently.

Seven Deadly Sins
We’ve been spending lots of time in Dartmoor to prepare it for the release of the Sloth Depletion Escalation, including a new time of day change, lighting, environment art and propping changes amongst other tweaks.



Location Changes: Berlin, Germany

Satu NightMare
We’ve tweaked an objective on the second stage of the Satu Mare Delirium Escalation (Deluxe) to clarify the kill method for one of the targets. Rather than “axe”, the objective will now state “fire axe”, which was previously only mentioned in the Notebook.

Curtain Call
We’ve resolved an issue where some characters could see through certain curtains in Berlin.



Location Changes: Chongqing, China

Controller Issues
We’ve resolved an issue where the behaviour of one of the targets could make it impossible to complete the Certainty Principle Mission Story.

FuseBox Fixup
We’ve changed the properties of a particular fusebox in Chongqing to prevent 47 from being able to walk through it.

Missing Tool
We’ve updated a prompt inside the facility that would show that 47 could ‘loosen mounting’, but didn’t indicate what item was required to perform the action.

Shortcut Mixup
We’ve made another change to how some shortcut challenges are unlocked in Chongqing. From now on, the ‘Facility Elevator Shaft’ and ‘Inner Courtyard’ shortcuts will be unlocked properly, with the correct name, description and image in the challenge pop-up.

Impulse Resist
We’ve tweaked an issue where 47 could get stuck in a chair during the Impulse Control Mission Story.

Determined Drone
We’ve resolved an issue where a drone’s detection light could still search for and detect 47, after the drone had been destroyed with an explosive.



Location Changes: Mendoza, Argentina

Stair Head
We’ve resolved an issue where Agent 47’s head could clip with the stairs near the Winery’s Public Hall.


 

Location Changes: Carpathian Mountains, Romania

Train Crasher
We’ve resolved an issue where the game could crash shortly after starting the Untouchable mission from the default starting location.

Train Surfer
We’ve tweaked some parameters on the back-end to make the ‘Train Surfing’ trophy/achievement unlock more consistently. Players need to complete all challenges for the mission, including the Silent Assassin / Suit Only ones.



Legacy Location Changes: HITMAN 1 and HITMAN 2

Paris: Showstopper
We’ve fixed an issue where the Showstopper challenge would not unlock reliably. Whilst it was possible to unlock this challenge, several factors were affecting how reliable it was and they’ve now been tweaked.

Sapienza: Tunnel Vision
We’ve resolved an issue where players could see ‘out of world’ when the camera was in a specific place in the tunnels.

Sapienza: Tower Vision
We’ve tweaked an issue on some consoles where the arches in the Town Hall Tower are shown as dark shadows when viewed from a distance, such as the Church Tower.

Marrakesh: Missing Map
We’ve fixed an issue where the second floor of the Consulate building was missing from the mini map and Notebook map.

Bonus Episode
We’ve tweaked some parameters to make the Perfectionist trophy/achievement unlock more consistently.

Mumbai: Train Stopper
We’ve resolved an issue where Agent 47 could fall down from wooden planks near the trainyard.

Mumbai: Divine Descendance
We’ve updated the target image of Lucky Parminder in the Divine Descendance Escalation.

Whittleton Creek: Bright Attic Light
As a follow-up to the Legacy Lighting fixes that we implemented last month, we’ve tweaked an excessively bright light in an attic in Whittleton Creek.

Whittleton Creek: Quiet Suffocation
We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent some sound effects from playing during the animation to suffocate Janus.

Whittleton Creek: New Mugshot
We’ve updated the target image of ‘Ida Pagel’ in Contracts Mode.



Virtual Reality (PS VR)


Super DJ

We’ve made changes to the DJ console in Berlin where the prompts shown might not react properly when pressing the relevant buttons.

Sneaky Blinders
We’ve resolved an issue where the ‘VR Blinders’ would remain enabled when playing the non-VR version of the game.


Known Issues and Bug Reports

We’re always listening to feedback and tracking the issues that get reported. If you’ve encountered an issue with HITMAN 3 and want to tell us about it, please first check the official Known Issues list through the HITMAN 3 Player Support Hub for an updated list, where you can also submit a bug report.

3.40 Known Issue

PC players may encounter a crash if they open and close the Epic overlay during a cutscene. The crash is more likely to occur if the overlay is repeatedly opened and closed. The workaround here is to avoid doing that, whilst we work on a permanent solution.


 

HITMAN 3 – May Patch (3.30) Season of Pride


The HITMAN 3 May Patch arrives on Monday May 10, 2021 and signals the start of the Season of Pride.

As the second act of the Seven Deadly Sins content, the Season of Pride brings new premium content and a full five weeks of new and returning content, including Featured Contracts created by the Hitman Community.

Before all of that, we need to get the game prepped and ready with a new patch, which will brings fixes and improvements across the board; Challenges and trophy/achievement fixes, lighting updates and a 60fps Performance Mode on Nintendo Switch are all coming your way in a few days…

The Seven Deadly Sins in HITMAN 3 started at the end of March with Act 1: Greed. HITMAN 3 players are invited deeper into Agent 47’s mind to explore The Pride Profusion Escalation and take ownership of new items and a shiny suit! General Updates

Challenges, Fixed
We’ve resolved issues that would prevent players from unlocking the following challenges: Cleaning Up (Colorado), Electric Boogie (Marrakesh, HBoS), Urine For It (Sapienza, Landslide), Estate Wines (Mendoza) and Got My Boomstick (Carpathian Mountains).

We’ve also fixed an issue that prevented the Bullet Train (Carpathian Mountains) trophy/achievement from unlocking.

Notebook Challenges
We’ve fixed an issue where completed Challenges would still be shown as ‘locked’ when viewed via the in-game notebook. Players would previously need to save/load or restart the mission to see accurate challenges displayed during the mission, even though completion status was correctly being tracked.

Legacy Lighting Pass
We’ve adjusted and tweaked various lighting issues across locations from HITMAN 1 and HITMAN 2. Only the ICA Facility and New York have not had any changes made related to lighting.

Our focus was to tweak extremely bright reflections or glows, transitioning between dark and bright areas, navigating/seeing textures in dark areas and to ensure that screenspace reflections look as expected with these changes.

Legacy Load Errors
We’ve made changes to resolve an issue that would prevent players from saving/loading when using items from HITMAN 1 or HITMAN 2. Basically, the one with the “Load Failed” error message that asked you to check that you had access to specific content.

NPCs Ignore Toilets
Toilets are now more appealing to anyone affected by emetic poison. In other words, we’ve resolved an issue where NPCs would prefer to use a rubbish bin / trash can rather than the toilet to throw up. Now, they will use the more logical choice, more often.

Leaderboard Percentiles

We’ve fully implemented a new feature to the Detailed Score Screen to give an at-a-glance look at how your score compares to the selected leaderboard. It’s also possible to see where the majority of players rank for each mission.

MiniMap Overlay
We’ve resolved a minor visual issue where icons near the minimap and prompts could overlap when viewing the inventory.

Sieker 1 Out
We’ve changed the properties of the Sieker 1 Emetic Gun to fix an issue where it could not be selected in Offline Mode.

Taunton Sieker
We’ve resolved an issue that would cause the inventory images of the Sieker 1 and Taunton Dart Gun to be swapped, depending on what was unlocked and in what order.

Identical Explosives
We’ve tweaked the inventory images for the ICA Explosive Images so that they better reflect the in-game versions.

PS5 Game Help
We’ve resolved an issue where placeholder text was showing for some steps of the PS5 Game Help. It had nothing to do with our pet cat.

Caught Bald-Headed
Agent 47’s bald head will no longer poke out the top of the Arkian Tuxedo suit.

Featured Contract Rewards
We’ve tidied up how the Featured Contracts rewards challenges are being tracked to fix a few issues. Some context: Our intention at launch was for players to complete unique Featured Contracts to earn the different milestone rewards (10, 20, 30, 40, etc). However, it was possible to reach these milestones by repeating the same contract. After reverting back to the intended structure, it caused a few irregularities on the challenge progress depending on the extent of players’ progress.

Here’s what will happen with the release of the 3.30 patch:

– Players who have reached the specified milestones when 3.30 is released will earn the related unlocks. (Example: If you currently have 32/30 contracts completed and no way to earn the unlock, 3.30 will grant you that unlock and mark the challenge as completed.)

– All uncompleted Featured Contract Reward challenges will accurately display the number of unique Featured Contracts that have been completed. (Example: If you played the same contract 29/30 times at launch, 3.30 will adjust that challenge progress to 1/30.)

The idea here is that we want to keep the intended structure of these challenges going forward, but without punishing players who played by the ‘rules’ at launch.

Featured Contract Counter
We’ve resolved an issue that could prevent the first completed Featured Contract from being registered on the “Featured Contracts – Track” counters, which could lead to irregularities in the progression.

FC Disconnect
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause players to disconnect when completing a Featured Contract. The contract completion was properly registered in the Featured Contracts Track challenges, but any unlocks that should have been awarded were not granted.

Queued Cues
We’ve made some changes to ensure that the proper audio cues play when unlocking new items through mastery unlocks or when new complications for Escalations are introduced.

Already Registered
We’ve updated the error message players receive when trying to log in to their IOI Account and are told that they are ‘already registered’ but unable to log in. Players are now told that they need to visit the IOI Account website and log in using their preferred platform. (This was mostly occurring for PC players who had previously signed up for an IOI Account but are playing HITMAN 3 on Epic for the first time.)

Xbox One Rendering Quality
We’ve added a ‘Rendering Quality’ toggle to the Options>Graphics menu on Xbox One X and Xbox One S that allows players to choose between High Quality or High Framerate modes.

A Brief Moment
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause in-game dialogue to continue after entering the inventory wheel and then choosing an item to store in a briefcase. It’s intended that the entire game is paused when players are in all inventory menus.

Challenge Filter
We’ve added a new option to the Challenge menus that will make it easier to filter the challenges depending on what you want to see.

Colourblind Guards
We’ve adjusted the guard dialogue lines that trigger when they’re hunting 47 to more accurately describe the suit he was wearing. In some cases, certain suits would trigger placeholder dialogue lines describing 47 in the Requiem suit.

Precision Aim
When playing on a controller, you can now press the L1/LB button to activate the ‘Marksman’ perk, which will improve your aim and slow down time. This has been implemented as part of a important change for Nintendo Switch players but will work for other controllers and platform too. The in-game UI and controller mapping will still show R2/RT as the default option for non-Switch players, but we’ve noted it here seeing as the option will be available.

Typo Thief
We’ve fixed a typo in the description of the Taunton Dart Gun. From Steal to Steel.

Tactical Placeholder
We’ve updated the description of the Tactical Turtleneck suit in the inventory to remove placeholder text.

Poison Pen
We’ve updated the Italian description for the Siringa Emetica a Forma di Penna ICA to better reflect that it is an emetic device, not lethal.

Stability Improvements
We’ve resolved issues that could cause the game to crash or be unstable.

Where It’s Due… 3.30
We’ve updated the credits to reflect work done since the last patch.


Location Changes: Dubai, UAE

7DS: Exiting Dubai
We’ve resolved an issue where the unique ‘exit music’ from The Greed Enumeration would trigger when exiting the Dubai location in content not associated with the DLC.

7DS: Voice of Greed
We’ve made a change so that dialogue from the The Greed Enumeration now stops playing when players skip the end cutscene.

The Sound of Carpet
We’ve resolved an issue that could prevent carpet sound effects from playing in Dubai. There was nothing wrong with the carpet itself, but 47 was not *quite* touching the carpet.

Best Intensions
We’ve fixed a typo in the subtitles near the end of the “Means, Motive and Opportunity” Mission Story. We’re not going to tell you too much about it because spoilers.

Left In Suspense
We’ve resolved an issue where Agent 47 could get stuck when vaulting over walls in Dartmoor, especially near the Trophy Room.

Hang Down

We’ve fixed an issue where the phone in the Lawyer’s Office was always standing up.

My Room
We’ve fixed an issue where 47 can be spotted through a wall in Alexa’s bedroom.

Location Changes: Chongqing, China

A Very Observant Lady
We’ve reinforced some of the walls in the restaurant to prevent NPC’s from seeing 47 through specific walls.

Paper Town
We’ve resolved an issue where some buildings in the background of Chongqing appeared to be made of paper, or not connected to one another.

Wet Suit(s)
We’ve removed a layer of waterproof coating from the Raver Suit, Futo Suit, Freedom Phantom Suit and Lynch Suit so that they look wet when outdoors in the Chongqing rain. Same goes for 47’s head.

Apartment Stalkers

We’ve fixed a few tiny holes in the walls of the apartment staircase that allowed eagle-eyed NPC’s to see 47 performing illegal actions. They could probably see him perform legal actions too, but nobody reported that as a problem.

Inside Rain Out
We’ve tweaked a few things so that players no longer hear the ‘outside sounds’ of rain and traffic from certain places in the facility in Chongqing.

Villa? On Top.
We’ve tweaked the drainpipes on the Villa Roof to make sure they’re visible from all angles.

Legal Rifles
Sniper Rifles are now considered to be ‘illegal’ when carried in any outfit in Mendoza, to be consistent with all other locations.

Improbable Proloff
We’ve tweaked some of the parameters of the Proloff Parable to allow players to earn the Silent Assassin rating on all three levels.

Sieger 300 Arctic
We’ve tweaked the inventory image of the Sieger 300 Arctic to better reflect the suppressor on the weapon.


 

Legacy Location Changes: HITMAN 1 and HITMAN 2

Marrakesh: Zaydan’s Prisoner
We’ve put the bag back on the prisoner’s head.

Sapienza: Solo Personale Autorizzato
We’ve fixed a sign on the door to the cave tunnel that was only visible when the door was open.

Isle of Sgail: Washing Ton
We’ve updated the description for the “Ghost of Janus’ Past” challenge to have the correct spelling of ‘Sophia Washington’.

 



Virtual Reality (PS VR)


Font Eligibility

We’ve made tweaks to the font colours to make them easier to read, depending on the background colour.

Textures
We’ve fixed several issues that were causing missing textures, visual issues and other environment art issues when playing in PS VR.

 


 

Platform-Specific Changes: Switch

Performance Mode
We’ve added a toggle to enable Performance Mode at 720p/60fps over the default option of 1080p/30fps.

Precision Fire
We’ve added the Steady Aim feature to the L button on Nintendo Switch. This allows you to improve your aim and slow time when aiming with a Sniper Rifle with the Marksman perk, especially useful for the Sniper Assassin game mode and certain Mission Stories. The in-game UI and controller maps will display this accurately.

Helpful note: It’s possible to toggle whether you hold or tap ZL in order to aim a weapon. Look for the Toggle Aim option in Options>Gameplay>Weapon Aim. Note that this won’t affect  47’s ‘aiming’ when throwing; this will still require the play to hold the button to move 47’s throwing arc.

Dubai Demo
We’ve added a new 10 minute trial available for all Nintendo Switch players, allowing them to experience the new Performance Mode on the opening level of the game; Dubai.



Platform-Specific Changes: Stadia

Muffled Audio
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause dialogue and gunshots to be heavily muffled when choosing the default starting location on Dubai.

State Share Where
We’ve added the name of the in-game location (Dubai, Dartmoor, etc) to State Share captures.

Saving Consistency
We’ve made a change to be consistent with how the game handles game save files that include items that are unique to each game from the trilogy.

Frame Drop Fix
We’ve rolled out a hotfix that will resolve issues of frame drops and freezes that players were experiencing since the March 30 patch.

HITMAN 3 – March Patch: Season of GREED.


The Season of Greed in HITMAN 3 starts today with the arrival of the March Patch – and it’s an important one.

The March Patch prepares the game for the release of some very exciting content, including a brand new seasonal Escalation in Berlin, where you’ll be collecting and throwing eggs at your targets. Plus some brand new DLC, focused around the Seven Deadly Sins, starting with Act 1: Greed. There’s plenty to get your teeth into as well as details on the first HITMAN 3 Elusive Target and a whole lot of fixes and changes too!

HITMAN 3 – March Patch Details

HITMAN 3 will be updated to version 3.20 on all platforms; PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Stadia and Switch.

Patch Release: Tuesday 30th March 2021, 1pm UTC / 3pm CEST / 6am PT

Maintenance: Starts one hour before the release of the patch on all platforms (two hours for Switch). The game servers for each platform will come back online once they’ve been checked and verified. Updates will be posted to the official @IOInteractive Twitter account.

Patch size: Approximately 3.5 GB on all platforms.

Cloud: Stadia and Switch players do not need to download or install the patch. They will get access to the latest version when they launch the game after the above ‘patch release’ time.

New Content

Seven Deadly Sins Act 1: Greed

The Seven Deadly Sins are arriving in HITMAN 3 as a new 7-part premium expansion. Act 1: Greed will be available to purchase on March 30 and invites players to Dubai to indulge in a new 3-stage Escalation: The Greed Enumeration and unlock sin-themed rewards… How greedy are you feeling?

Complete an objective, collect the coins (that rightly belong to you) and feed the frog to reap your rewards. These rewards will help you to complete additional objectives that are only revealed once you have completed the previous ones; should you exit the level now, or get greedy and hunt for more coins?

All of the coins that you collect in a given stage will carry over to the next stage of the Escalation, giving you the opportunity to feed the frog and earn more useful rewards.

Indulging in The Greed Enumeration will reward players with three permanent unlocks; the Rapacious Suit, Greedy Little Coin and The Devil’s Cane, which can all be used across the World of Assassination. Using The Devil’s Cane as a melee weapon in other contracts will cause it to generate a Greedy Little Coin, to remind you of your greed.

The Seven Deadly Sins Collection and Act 1: Greed will be available on digital stores at 1pm UTC. For more details, check out our Seven Deadly Sins announcement post.

Seasonal Event: Berlin Egg Hunt
Follow the white rabbit… The first seasonal event for all HITMAN 3 owners sees Agent 47 heading to Berlin, which has been transformed for the Berlin Egg Hunt. This exclusive Club Hölle event has a strict dress code and is at capacity when you arrive, so your knowledge of the club’s exterior will be crucial.

The Berlin Egg Hunt will be playable from March 30 – April 12 and brings a seasonal twist to the Berlin location with new decorations and graffiti and new gameplay items (eggs!) to collect and use. Each stage of this seasonal Escalation will introduce new complications and targets for you to hunt down. Participate in the event and you’ll unlock the Raver Outfit to show off your love for techno.

April Roadmap Season of Greed
The Seven Deadly Sins is our new focus for content releases, so we’re changing the naming of our roadmaps. It’s just the naming that’s changing roadmap-wise and HITMAN 3 owners can still look forward to content being added to the game at no additional cost. All of that means that instead of the April Roadmap, we’re kicking off the Season of Greed, which will run until May 10th when HITMAN 3’s next Season of Sin will start.

The countdown for the first HITMAN 3 Elusive Target starts with the release of the March Patch. You’ll see a ticking clock in the menu counting down to April 9th, when The Collector will arrive in Dartmoor for 10 days.

General Updates

Stability Improvements
We’ve resolved several issues that could cause the game to crash or, in rare cases, cause endless loading.

Requiem
The Requiem Pack is back, and included in the H1 GOTY Access Pass. Any HITMAN 3 owners who have installed the H1 GOTY Access Pass will also have access to the three items included in the Requiem Pack.

Trophies/Achievements
We’ve resolved several issues that could prevent players from unlocking the following trophies; Shortcut Killer, Dune Rider (Dubai), Full House (Dartmoor), Rich Harvest (Mendoza), Future Shock (Chongqing), Pure Poetry (Hantu Port).

Additionally, fixes for the following challenges that are required to unlock some trophies/achievements have also been implemented: Discover Dubai, Discover Mendoza.

Players that have been affected should unlock the relevant trophies/achievements when they launch the game after installing the 3.20 patch. We know some players are also having ussues with other trophies/achievements. We’re tracking and working on updates for those.

Achievement Framerate Unlocked
Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox One X users can now toggle between a locked/ 30fps or unlocked framerate. Locked is the default option. In testing, we’ve hit a very consistent 60 fps on Xbox One X across all three games in the trilogy, with only occasional dips.

Trinity Guns
We’ve resolved an issue where a white, floating attachment could be seen on the weapons in the Trinity Pack (pre-order bonus)

Leaderboards
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause players to see erratic leaderboard positions after completing a mission. In some cases, this would show players that they performed worse than the entire leaderboard, i.e 501/500.

Default Disguise
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause 47 to start in a suit, even when a starting location with a forced disguise was selected. This could cause him to be immediately suspicious in some circumstances.

Silenced Guns
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause the sound effects of the Bartoli 12G and the Shashka A33 to not play when they are fired by NPC’s.

Wallpop
We’ve resolved an issue where the ‘Piercing’ perk was not properly displayed on the ICA Bartoli Woodsman Hunting Rifle Covert.

Interaction Font Size
We’ve added more options for the size of interaction prompts, allowing players to choose from font size 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35. Choosing a larger font size may cause text to overlap in crowded instances, where multiple prompts are on the screen.

Visual Fidelity
We’ve resolved several issues across multiple locations that could cause textures to ‘disappear’ at certain angles, where items would appear to be ‘floating’ or where positioning the camera in a certain position could cause Agent 47 to disappear.

Silenced Weapons
We’ve ironed out a few inconsistencies with several silenced weapons. The HKW21 Pale Homemade Silencer, ICA DTI Stealth, ICA Tactical Shotgun Covert, DAK Gold Covert and DAK Black Covert were all missing the ‘suppressor’ tag in their inventory description. Also, the ICA Tactical Shotgun Covert was not being treated as a silenced weapon by NPCs. That’s changed as well now.

Holster Audio
We’ve resolved an issue that was preventing the ‘holster’ sound effect from triggering.

Normal vs Medium
We’ve adjusted the text on some of our ‘graphics settings’ descriptions so that they’re consistent between the game and the launcher. Medium is the new normal.

Version ID
We’ve added an extra line to the settings menu to also display the current version ID of the game. This will help us when troubleshooting issues in development and with players.

Where It’s Due, 3.20
We have updated the HITMAN 3 credits to reflect the work that has been done since we submitted the game for release. We also correct a few errors and included new members of the team.

Drop The Body
We’ve resolved an issue where it was not possible to dump bodies off some ledges of the building in Dubai. 

Wait, what water?
We’ve resolved an issue where overflowing the sink in one of the bathrooms in Dubai wouldn’t attract anyone.

Hold Up
We’ve tweaked the setup of the guard at the VIP balcony in Dubai so that he will enforce trespassing rules. Previously, he would allow 47 to trespass all too easily without consequence.

Repetitive Repetition
We identified an issue where Carl Ingram would often repeat a line of dialogue when using the dictaphone, so we’ve resolved the issue where Carl Ingram would often repeat a line of dialogue when using the dictaphone.

Safe Space
We’ve resolved an issue where 47 could be spotted by guards that were outside, when he was inside the greenhouse in Dartmoor.

Body Container
We’ve resolved an issue with some containers in Dartmoor where a prompt on the side of the container would allow 47 to ‘dump’ the body. He wasn’t supposed to be allowed to do it though, so the body would be launched into the air. We’ve removed the prompt.

Inaccurate Weaponry
We’ve resolved an issue where the description of the weapons carried by targets in Berlin was not accurate.

UI_CONTRACT_FOX
We’ve resolved an issue where debug text would appear as an objective after performing specific actions in Berlin.

Unidenitfied Target
We’ve resolved an issue that could prevent a target from being displayed in Instinct and their details being added to the Intel menu.

This was the Silenced Version
We’d like to award Reddit user u/StealthyBastard94 the prize for ‘Most Entertaining HITMAN 3 Bug Report’ for March. Here’s how they won this presigious and unique award. We’ve now changed the description so that it no longer says that the gun is silenced.

Chongqing Shortcuts
We’ve resolved an issue where unlocking a shortcut in Chongqing could prevent players from unlocking the associated challenges with all shortcuts.

Chongqing Controller
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause inconsistencies in the ‘Controller’ Mission Story.

Cover Up
We’ve removed a piece of cover in Chongqing that was floating.

The Phoenix Discourse
We’ve resolved an issue where 47 could ‘hack’ a laptop in Chongqing despite not having the proper clearance. We know that’s the whole point of hacking, but it makes sense if you play the game.



Location Changes: Mendoza, Argentina

Security Door
We’ve resolved an issue in Mendoza where an erroneous objective would appear in the menu after interacting with the security door terminal.

Mendoza Contracts
We’ve fixed an issue where Contracts created on Mendoza would sometimes fail to load, depending on when they were created.

Grape Box
We’ve (apparently) resolved an issue that could cause 47 to get stuck inside a grape box in Mendoza.
(Editor’s Note: Sometimes I wonder if our developers just make up some of these ‘fixes’ to see if they can get them in the patch notes…)

Security Consistency
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause some inconsistencies with the locations of the Head of Security and the Sommelier in Mendoza.

Grape Pressure
We’ve resolved an issue where some bodies could not be contained within the grape presser.

Patient Zero
We’ve resolved an issue that was preventing the ‘Play Next’ option from displaying after completing one of the first three missions in the Patient Zero campaign.

Hidden Pigeon
We’ve resolved an issue that made it very difficult to locate a specific pigeon in the Himmelstein Sniper Assassin map. We’ll quote the internal bug report resolution: “tweaked tree to unhide pigeon.”

Beach Rest
We’ve resolved an issue where one particular guard on the beach wouldn’t react to an exploding truck. Lazy.

Miami Zoom
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause visual issues when zooming with a sniper rifle in Miami.

Stick Man
We’ve resolved an issue in Santa Fortuna where some trees were lacking collision properties and 47 could walk (or jog) right through them.

Yoga Guard
We’ve resolved an issue where one specific guard in Mumbai would hold his weapon above his head, with twisted arms.

Elite Guard
We’ve resolved an issue that was causing clipping on the hood of the Elite Guard outfit in Isle of Sgail

Bank Mirrors
We’ve resolved an issue that made it impossible to shoot through the mirror between the conference room and the CEO’s Private Room in New York (The Bank)



Virtual Reality (PS VR)

VR Crash Fixes
We’ve improved stability to resolving several issues that could cause the game to crash when playing in VR.

Hokkaido OOW
We’ve resolved an issue where Agent 47 would consistently fall off the map when vaulting the railing on Dexter’s balcony when playing in VR.

Flicker Issues
We’ve tweaked a few things to reduce the flickering that could occur on some of the rooftops in Berlin and some plants and hedges in Dartmoor when playing in VR.

Measure Up
We’ve tweaked the measuring tape item so that it looks better in 47’s hands when playing in VR.

We’ve resolved an issue that could cause players to experience frequent disconnects.

Camera?
We’ve resolved an issue where ??? might be displayed as a button prompt when attempting to take a photo, depending on the assigned button.

Training Crash
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause the game to crash when progressing from the Guided Training to the Freeform Training.

Crash Fix
We’ve resolved several issues that could cause the game to crash when performing various actions; shooting guards in Himmelstein, shooting plastic bottles in Dubai, when shooting a camera and a few other instances.


Known Issues

We’ve listed some of the most-talked about HITMAN 3 topics here to keep you updated on their progress. This isn’t an exhaustive list and will be added to over time.

HDR
We’re investigating and working directly with players that have reported that the HDR implementation isn’t optimal on some setups.

Shoulder Camera
Removing the option to change which of Agent 47’s shoulders that the game camera is located behind was intentional. This is now only possible when in combat. We’re aware of player feedback on this choice and we’ll share any updates here. This isn’t just a toggle that we can add back in, so it can’t be changed quickly. 

Audio Cut Offs
We’re investigating an issue that can cause the background music to abruptly stop playing during gameplay.

Challenging Challenges
We’re aware of several players having issues unlocking the following challenges: Showstopper, Urine for It, Cleaning Up, The Gig Is Up, Electric Boogie, amongst others. They’re all tracked.

Missing Mastery
Several players have reported that they don’t see the ‘Mastery progress bars’ in the menu – and that’s not a bug (it’s a feature) it’s an intentional part of our UI design. We adjust the UI depending on the device that you’re playing on to give the best experience. For example, the mastery progress bars are intentionally not visible on Switch or when playing Stadia on a mobile phone.

Black Mirrors
Players have reported that the mirrors in Alexa Carlisle’s office (Dartmoor) are displayed as black, when playing in VR and when viewed from a distance. This is intentional to maintain a high level of performance.

Backlog: NPCs Ignore Toilets
We’re aware of a long-standing legacy issue where NPCs that are affected by emetic poison would prefer to use a bin/trash can rather than the toilet to throw up. We’re close to a resolution for this issue that will mean that affected NPCs will use the more logical and “challenge-completion-friendly” option more often. Stay tuned for updates.

Your Issue Here
Once again, we want to end the patch notes by saying ‘thanks for your patience and for playing’! We’re sure that some of you will reach this point and be frustrated that an issue you currently have with the game hasn’t been resolved or acknowledged. There’s a very good chance that it’s already on our radar. We’ll continue to add the most-talked about topics into the Known Issues section of our patch notes as they arise.

Cinema Mode Hotfix PS VR
We’ve fixed an issue where going in and out of Cinema Mode in PS VR, could cause a full crash on PS4.

The first major patch for HITMAN 3 arrives today! We’re excited to include a long-requested suit as a new unlockable that all players can earn, as well as many improvements and tweaks that will improve the overall game  performance. We’ve also prepared the game for the continued release of new content in the coming weeks and months – but we’re keeping those announcements under wraps a little while longer.

HITMAN 3 – February Patch Details

HITMAN 3 will be updated to version 3.11 on all platforms; PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Stadia and Switch. You can check the current game version that you have access to in-game at the bottom of the Options menu.

Date: Tuesday 23rd February 2021, 2pm CET

Maintenance: None. The patch will roll out at the above time. After downloading and installing the patch, all players will need to restart the game to play the latest version of the game.

Patch size: Between 2-3 GB on all platforms.

Cloud: Stadia and Switch players do not need to download or install the patch. They will get access to the latest version when they launch the game after the above time.


HITMAN 3 – February Patch Notes ( Version 3.11)

New Content

The Tactical Turtleneck is now an unlockable suit for all HITMAN 3 players. Once unlocked, it will be added to your inventory and can be used on any location that allows you to choose a suit. To get your hands on it, you’ll have to return to the ICA Facility and complete The Final Test.

 

New Deluxe Content
Owners of the HITMAN 3 Deluxe Edition or Deluxe Pack will get access to new content this month, as part of the ongoing rollout of Deluxe conent. This will bring the total number of released Deluxe Escalations to 5/6. We expect to release the final Deluxe Escalation – and therefore all content included in the Deluxe Pack – in March 2021. Here’s what’s included in February for Deluxe Edition/Pack owners:

Deluxe Escalation: The Proloff Parable
Become The White Shadow and use the White Custom Sieger 300 and White Katana to complete this challenging Escalation in the Carpathian Mountains. Complete all stages and all of the items will be in your inventory.

Deluxe Escalation: The Gauchito Antiquity
Get ready for The Guru to give you a taste of his emetic medicine in Mendoza. With the Emetic Grenade and Emetic Pen Syringe at your disposal, you’ll need to work through all stages to unlock the three items for your inventory.


February Roadmap: Initiation Protocol
New content will be added to HITMAN 3 every week in February, including an upcoming Elusive Target in Sapienza, Escalation Contracts in Dubai and Dartmoor as well as Featured Contracts from our friends at MinnMax and KindaFunny. See our February Roadmap post for new details. A full roadmap for next month will be released in early March.



General Updates

Deluxe Content
We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent some players from being able to access their Deluxe Edition content (digital book and soundtracks) via IOI Account. After installing this patch, players should first launch HITMAN 3 and then check the ‘Rewards’ section of their IOI Account profile. It may take up to 15 minutes for the downloads to appear after playing HITMAN 3.

Connectivity
We’ve made several tweaks on the back-end since launch and this first major patch allows us to do more. We’ve made several technical improvements and tweaks that will result in a smoother and more stable experience for all players. This will also improve the experience for players who were receiving errors when trying to exit a mission.

Stability
We’ve resolved multiple, wide-ranging issues that were causing the game to crash for various reasons. Players on all platforms will benefit from these improvements.

Trophies/Achievements
We’ve resolved an issue that could prevent the “Reach Mastery Level 20” achievements/trophies from triggering, despite players reaching that milestone. In some cases, this issue could also prevent PlayStation players from earning the Platinum trophy. Players that have been affected should unlock the relevant trophies/achievements when they launch the game after installing the 3.11 patch.

Trespassing Agility
We’ve updated the HUD rules to accurately display when Agent 47 is trespassing whilst performing agility moves (climbing, vaulting, etc). In the past, the HUD would show that all pipes and ledges were ‘non-trespassing’ even when that wasn’t the case. In truth, 47 was trespassing, but the HUD didn’t reflect that. This change will mean that the HUD will display accurately when you are trespassing. This may cause for some inconsistencies (such as only half of a drain pipe being a trespass zone), but the information you see will now be accurate according to the mission setups. We’re monitoring any further issues that might come up on this.

Hostile Trespass
We’ve added a new audio effect for when players begin trespassing in a hostile area.



Silent Assassin HUD Updates

Info: What is the Silent Assassin HUD?
An icon next to your minimap that will track and show whether the coveted Silent Assassin (SA) rating is still possible on your current playthrough. Turn it on/off here: Gameplay>HUD>Silent Assassin HUD

Recording Eraser
We’ve added a new state to the Silent Assassin HUD. This third state will display when the SA rating is still possible, but 47 needs to erase recordings before exiting the level. This will be shown as an orange/yellow blinking image of the usual SA HUD image and a security camera.

Fail Better
We’ve adjusted the red SA HUD indicator (SA ‘failed’) to make it easier to identify when compared to the green state. The red icon is now a red outline of the SA HUD icon, rather than a solid red colour. The green icon remains solid. This should make the red and green states easier to identify for some colorblind players.

Unintended Base Jump
We’ve adjusted a few places where Agent 47 would jump off the side of the building and outside of the playable area instead of ‘vaulting’, like the prompt suggests he can. This includes the one you might have encountered when throwing knives at boxes in the Sinbad Stringent Escalation.

No Ghost
We’ve adjusted the weapon protocols in Dubai so that security guards (or anyone disguised as one) are unable to openly carry sniper rifles. They’re now restricted in all disguises and will be enforced accordingly.

Incorrect Arabic
We’ve adjusted the Arabic script used on the information boards around the location. The text is now displayed in the correct way and with improved accuracy for some of the translations.

Invisible Walls
We’ve removed two invisible walls that could partially block Agent 47 from freely moving through the ventilation room near the Penthouse.

Lockdown
We’ve resolved an issue where players could be unable to complete the How The Mighty Fall Mission Story after triggering the silent alarm and then being compromised by the investigating guards.

Top Gear
We’ve resolved an issue where the Top Gear challenge wouldn’t unlock. This was only an issue if you chose to get on the bike from one particular side. Now, you can get on however you want and still get the challenge.

Mr Pond
We’ve resolved an issue where bodies that were ‘dumped’ in the pond were not always ‘hidden’ and could be discoverd.

Canal Man
We’ve resolved an issue where Agent 47 could fall out of the playable area. In several different places. It was almost as if he was trying to escape.

Equip: Wrench
We’ve removed the manhole in Berlin as it was causing several issues. There are healthier alternatives to dumping bodies or leaving the mission. They are now your go-to.

PumpCap
We’ve resolved an issue where players could get stuck after taking cover next to a petrol pump.

Lemon Aid
We’ve resolved a complicated issue that could cause the game to crash when eliminating or subduing a specific target (Agent Lemon) after performing specific events prior to that.

Confused Shortcuts
We’ve resolved an issue where unlocking the Facility Elevator Shaft shortcut would unlock the challenge for unlocking the Inner Courtyard shortcut, and vice versa.

The All-Seeing Controller
We’ve resolved an issue where players could not complete either The Controller or the All Seeing Eyes Mission Story on Master Difficulty. We’ve also fixed a related issue that would prevent the description for All Seeing Eyes from displaying in the notebook.

Laundromat
We’ve resolved an issue where the technologically advanced ‘invisible’ washing machines that we added to Chongqing were causing players to report them as bugged. We’ve reverted them to the ‘normal’ type of washing machines you’d expect to see. We would like to take this time to thank everyone else who understood what we were going for.

Illegal Umbrellas
We’ve resolved another ‘innocent item is illegal on casual difficulty’ issue. This time it was the umbrella.

Double O Double U
We’ve resolved a(nother) handful of issues where it was possible for 47 to fall outside of the playing space. He’s persistent.

Falsk Frisk
We’ve changed the behaviour of the guards on top of the apartment building roof so that they no longer frisk 47 when he’s wearing a guard disguise.

M.C Fusebox
We’ve resolved an issue where disabling a fusebox near the Lotus Passage could eventually attract a large amount of guards one at a time. Now, only a handful that are nearby will be tempted.

The Tour
We’ve resolved a few issues where players would be unable to progress or complete The Tour Mission Story, depending on their actions.

Oh Snap 2.0
We’ve resolved an issue where a small speech bubble saying “Oh Snap” would appear in the level, seemingly at random. Not sure what else to say about this one. No more speech bubbles.

Frost
We’ve resolved an issue where NPCs could see through the frosted glass in the wine cellar. Now, it’s really good frosted glass, so they won’t see anything you do, at all.

Cacti
We’ve trimmed the cactuses near to the Backdoor shortcut to prevent 47 getting stuck behind them.

Arachnid Pointing Meme
We’ve made a change to the Winemaker’s behaviour so that they will now enforce their own disguise, should they be knocked out and then woken up again. Previously, they’d be completely okay with overcoming a headache and watching someone else wearing their clothes.

For My Next Trick
We’ve fixed an issue where all the items in a specific room in the Steel Tank area would ‘disappear’ when 47 was stood in a specific place.

A Generic Patch Note
We’ve tweaked some behaviours for some guards to be more consistent around the Winery Cinema. We’ve been vague here to avoid describing something cool that shouldn’t be revealed in our patch notes.

Snow Dive
We’ve tweaked some of the agility setups on the roof of the train to prevent 47 falling off and getting lost in the wilderness.


Menu / HUD / UI / UX Improvements

Hello, Old Friend
We’ve adjusted the background contrast of the mission end screens to make them darker. The intention is to make the white text easier to read.

MinniMap
We’ve moved the border of the mini map to properly align it with the actual map. It was misaligned by a few pixels.

Oh Snap! 1.0
We’ve added a full description to the camera item when viewed in the inventory.

Intel Acquired
We have updated the images for some Intel items on the Berlin and Carpathian Mountains campaign mission.

Just A Matter…
We’ve reviewed and updated the inventory images for some items to make sure that their size and perspective fits better with the other items.

UD; LR
We’ve tweaked the display of the ‘d-pad’ icons in the menus to make them easier to identify. For example, when we show how to switch ammo types in Sniper Assassin.

Place Down
We’ve tweaked the indicator for placing an item so that it’s easier to see in some instances.

Sneak Level 47
We’ve fixed an issue where we didn’t tell you the exact button to press for crouching. It’s quite important that you know how to sneak, so we’ve fixed that.

Reload HUD
We’ve updated the Reload HUD icons to make them more visible, especially for some PS5 players.

Sapienza Menu
We’ve updated the Destination background image for Sapienza to better reflect the current lighting.

Where It’s Due, 3.11
We have updated the HITMAN 3 credits to reflect the work that has been done since we submitted the game for release. We also correct a few errors and included new members of the team.



Virtual Reality (PS VR)

I Know It…
We’ve added a note to the Pause Menu that tells you to ‘look at the back of your hand’ for a mission status. The ‘back-of-your-hand’ HUD has been in the game since launch, but we noticed players not being able to find some elements there. We’re talking about it now because it just got a whole lot better.

VR HUD Improvements
We’ve added the SA HUD and Difficulty HUD options into the VR ‘back-of-your-hand’ HUD, where you can already see your current disguise. You can activate the back-of-your-hand HUD by trying to look at the back of Agent 47’s right hand.

Mission Timer HUD
We’ve added a way to see the Mission Timer in VR. When toggled on, the Mission Timer is now visible when looking at Agent 47’s right wrist. You just need to look down to see it.

Blue Grid Toggle
We’ve added an option that allows players to turn off the blue ‘safe area’ grid, which is permanently shown when the VR camera is having difficulties detecting the controller and headset. We’ve added this option due to player feedback, but strongly recommend that players keep it toggled on and instead adjust their hardware and physical position where possible.

Mission Story Fade
We’ve made a change to how the Mission Stories text is displayed in VR. Rather than permanently being on the screen, they’ll now be shown for a few seconds when there is an update and then fade out again. Activating the ‘back-of-your-hand’ HUD will display the text at any time.

VR Leaderboards
We have added a VR icon to the leaderboards to highlight when a score was achieved in VR.

Options Adjustments
We’ve adjusted the visibility and tweaked the toggles of a few of the settings that were not relevant when playing in VR. Weapon Aim, Fast Targets, Weapon HUD, Reload HUD and Autosave are affected. They have either been removed from the Options menu when playing in VR, or the toggles have been simplified to explain the impact for VR players.

Seeing Spots
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause small green dots to flicker on the screen, especially in Dubai. This was caused by an issue with the UI.

Background Bleed
We’ve resolved an issue where the background image in the Career page would overflow vertically. It’s been tidied up.

Cutscene Exit
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause the game to revert to ‘2D’ or crash after exiting a mission whilst a cutscene is playing.

Save. Load. Repeat
We’ve resolved an issue that could make it impossible to see all of the available save slots when trying to load a mission. The save files are there, but this visual issue was preventing VR players from seeing them.

Revealing…
We’ve fixed an issue where some prompts or on-screen icons would briefly flicker when first appearing, such as the ‘bulb’ icon when a Mission Story is being revealed.

Smoke Test
We’ve tweaked the ‘smoke’ visual effect to make sure it looks great in VR. The smoke can be seen from explosions, weapon fire and on specific events like the Miami podium was sometimes lacking some finesse.



Notable Updates for In-game Challenges

No Discovery For You!
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause the ‘Discover [Location]’ challenges to not complete. The issue was caused by players discovering areas whilst in the ‘Contract Creation’ mode and those ‘discoveries’ were not being added to the total amount. With this fix, when discovering locations in Contracts Mode, players will see that the areas have been discovered when they launch a mission in that location and then complete (or quit) the mission.

Two Suave For You
We’ve resolved an issue where the Summer Suave Suit was listed as an unlockable for two different challenges. Now, the suit will be unlocked only when completing the ‘Escalations – Track 2, Tier 9’ challenge.

SA17 SO12 (4U)
We’ve resolved an issue with the ‘SASO x12’ challenge. The description said “x17”. You can probably guess what the fixed involved. 172



Game Mode Changes: Sniper Assassin

A Mansion in the Mountains
We’ve added the briefing video for the Himmelstein Sniper Assassin map back into the game. It was AWOL.

Sniper Rifle Mastery
We’ve resolved an issue where the Mastery upgrades that players had earned were not added to the rifle and players were always using the ‘base’ rifle regardless of their upgrades. Now, the earned progress will be reflected accurately with the correct upgrades.

Druzhina 34 ICA Wallbang
We’ve removed the Shockwave and Wall-piercing perks from the Druzhina 34 ICA sniper rifle when it is used outside of the Sniper Assassin mode. These were never intended to be available outside of the Sniper maps.


Platform-Specific Changes: PS5

Game Help (Added Feb 09)
We’ve added support for Game Help on PlayStation 5.

When playing a campaign mission in HITMAN 3 (including HITMAN 1 & 2 missions), PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5 can get access to hints on how to complete each Mission Story, with videos and step-by-step instructions.

Across all three games, there are more than 450 hints.

Ansel Super
We’ve resolved an issue where players could encounter visual ghosting or blurred images when using either the Super Resolution Screenshots or adjusting FOV in Nvidia Ansel.

Apex Crasher
We’ve made changes to significantly reduce the chance of players using AMD 5700 CPUs from experiencing a crash when attempting to load Berlin.

Platform-Specific Changes: Stadia

Button Prompts
We’ve resolved inconsistencies with displaying keyboard prompts and controller prompts at the same time. We’ve also tweaked button prompt consistency for different controller inputs.

Dotted Lines
We’ve resolved a few visual issues where certain dotted lines weren’t displaying as intending, for example on the mission score screen or when a Mission Story was being revealed in-game.

Escalation Corruption
We’ve resolved an issue where some visual corruption could occur when loading Escalation contracts.

Lighting
We’ve resolved an issue that could cause the lighting in specific rooms or locations to be excessively bright, depending on the mission played previously.

State Share (Launch Feature)
HITMAN: World of Assassination, aka your hub for the entire trilogy of Stadia, launched with State Share. We wanted to reiterate those details here.

State Share is an exclusive Stadia feature that we have implemented into HITMAN 3 that allows you to easily capture and share any mission, escalation or contract you are playing into screenshots and videos. Simply use Stadia’s built-in screenshot or video recording feature to capture and share your contract state.

When you create a state share, other HITMAN players on Stadia can immediately start the contract with the same starting location, suit, items (both carried and smuggled) and difficulty.

Sharing a state won’t affect your own saves, unlocks or progression and, if you decide to retread your own steps, new unlocks and scores can still be earned.

When you play a shared state, you can earn the normal rewards, but access to any locked items will not persist after you have finished playing the state unless you have unlocked them during the session.


Known Issues

We’ve listed some of the most-talked about HITMAN 3 topics here to keep you updated on their progress. This isn’t an exhaustive list and will be added to over time.

Requiem Pack
The Requiem Pack was not included in the progression carryover process and is currently inaccessible to players that own in. We plan to make it available again in a future patch.

HDR
We’re investigating and working directly with players that have reported that the HDR implementation isn’t optimal on some setups.

Shoulder Camera
Removing the option to change which of Agent 47’s shoulders that the game camera is located behind was intentional and it’s still possible to do this when in combat. We’re aware of player feedback on this choice and we’ll share any updates here.

Your Issue Here

Viva La Vita
We’ve also removed some outdated messaging about the PlayStation Vita, which was displayed when your controller was disconnected.

Switch Trials
We’ve fixed an issue that could prevent Switch users from being able to access the second trial of HITMAN 3 – Cloud Version. This was happening when visiting the eShop after completing the first trial.

Everyone who was affected by this issue has been granted one more trial.

Down Stream
We’re deploying a hotfix on PC for an issue that was causing a crash when players were using OBS (streaming software) and trying to change resolution. Estimated update size: 550MB.

Ready for Takeoff
This patch includes the final pre-launch adjustments for HITMAN 3. Basically, we got the game ready to launch!
